| | The name of Thomas W. Band has only been seen printed on the top of the stiff backing papers used to support bookmarks in the post.
The printing though comprises the logo of Welch & Lenton, with Band's name printed instead.
In all recorded cases, as shown below, the actual bookmark had the Welch & Lenton name woven on the reverse.
It is hence assumed that Band was actually an agent or marketing outlet of Welch & Lenton, and not a weaver.
