Who made these silks? |
As well as the records for identified weavers, there are a number of images that have not been identified to specific makers. I have included many of these in a seperate section. Several have already been identified, and recorded accordingly, whilst others have been identified as of foreign manufacture and removed. Can you help identify who made any of the remaining ones? Here are the details of the silk bookmarks, postcards and pictures so far included. Can you help?

J. & J. Cash Other Items | The Bookmark Society recorded two Crimean War ribbons as being Cash's bookmarks. 24 September 2022 | Stevens Bookmarks | Graham Parker has sent me an image of his interesting Stevens bookmark. It is known there are two versions of the title "With kind wishes / Blessed are they that mourn"; one with upright "M", and one with rounded "M". Based on the woven credit on the reverse of these two, it is possible to put them in order of manufacture. Grahams new addition is however the transition bookmark, having the earlier Stevens credit, but later design on the front.: sb2637 - With kind wishes / Blessed are they that mourn (upright capital 'M') (excellent quality image)
Stevens Pictures | A black and white image of the Iroquios silk with no rear fencing has been recorded since 2003. This is an extremely rare silk, and it has taken until now for a colour image of the original silk to become available:- st356 - Iroquios - no rear fencing (excellent quality image) There is a suggestion that the very first STEVENGRAPH picture was in reality a cut down bookmark, mounted in a card matt. It is interesting now to record just such a picture of the title, " THE GOOD OLD DAYS ", although as this picture does not have a back label, it is possible it is not genuine:

For comparison purposes though, the Moon version has been recorded along side the GRANT 1888 version:
