This bookmark is not signed, although Godden attributes it to Stevens.
This bookmark has been seen still attached to the stiff backing paper used to support it in the post. At the top of this paper there were two embossed marks:
The first was the usual STEVENS embossing with " 32 Queen St. Coventry ",
And the second embossing was for " A.T. Read, Rugby. Bookseller, Bookbinder & Stationer "
The presence of the READ name is un-usual, as their name also appears on several GRANT postcards.
