These rectangular silks were made in three different sizes. The silk weaving was either finished neatly all round, or finished with a fringe at top and bottom. Some were stuck onto plain paper backing, whilst others were glued with an ornate paper lace die-cut border. Again, some had the Stevens logo printed on the back, whilst on others the Stevens name is completely missing. On a few designs, the Stevens name is woven into the pattern on either the front or the back of the rectangle. Despite this multiplicity of presentations, all of these rectangular silks have the same basic characteristics.
