The date woven on this bookmark is unfortunately indistinct. It is believed to be either that of 1884, issued to support Cleveland's successful election, or 1888 to support his un-successful attempt at re-election.

Grant also issued an almost identical bookmark, recorded as gb680, with the date of 1888, except the version above does not included the words " WHITE HOUSE " at the very bottom of the silk.
