Signed: "W.H. GRANT, MANUFACTURER
FOLESHILL. COVENTRY." on reverse top turnover. This bookmark was issued to support Cleveland's un-successful attempt at re-election in 1888. Whilst there is no evidence on the image of the reverse, it is quite possible this bookmark was originally issued with a pin, so it could be worn as a favour. It seems that out of fairness, Grant was commissioned to produce the campaign ribbons for both candidates. In doing so, Grant used the same basic design, as Benjamin Harrison's ribbon is very similar to the one above, as can be seen in the image of Harrison's ribbon {recorded as gb100 on this site}.
CAUTION The bookmark above relates to the 1888 Presidential Election. There also exists an almost identical bookmark relating to the 1892 Election. This one though was NOT made by Grant. It was made instead by J. A. Moon - as shown below:
