Two different versions of this subject are found: One showing Princess Alexandra nearly full-face and wearing a three-row string of pearls (image above). The mauve dress has often faded badly and appears white. The other shows the Princess's head half turned to the right, the half-length portrait posed above two crossed flags (see so548). The title was first listed on label 22+17+2 - an example of which, in my own (i.e Godden's) collection, is dated August 1887 - and specimens are affixed to type D card-mounts.
