This rather rare full-face portrait of the Victorian jockey occurs in two versions, as listed below.

The title was first included on label 21+13+2 of 1887, and examples are affixed to type C2 card-mounts.
The title was included in a Stevens advertisement published in May 1887.

§132: With P. Buchanan's colours: rose jacket with black sash (see so404). (Note: Godden incorrectly identifies this as Prince Soltykoff's colours.)

§132a: With Mr Vyners colours: violet jacket with white sash - see so408. (Note: Godden incorrectly identifies this as Sir Green Price's colours).

Other comments:
This silk was not previously recorded. Care however must be taken, as so408 records John Osborne with violet jacket and white sash - and the violet silk colour is known to fade quite readily, and usually to a yellow colour.
