Comments:
by Austin Sprake:
Probably copied from the paintings by Maclise hanging in the House of Lords, at Westminster.

by Geoffrey Godden:
A crowded landscape picture of Wellington and Blucher meeting after the Battle of Waterloo, with many standing soldiers as well as killed and wounded. This silk can be paired with the equally crowded view THE DEATH OF NELSON [st 124 on this site], and both were first included on printed label 23+31 of c. 1889.
This picture is normally mounted on type C or E card-mounts [the images above are of type C3 (brown) and E1 (green), both of circa 1893 - 1899].

Other comments:
The Stevengraph silk above was also used in the 1928 calendar

It is surprising how these STEVENS silks were used:

silk picture with card overprinted with German company name
the image of this picture was kindly donated by the President of The Stevengraph Collectors Association
