The pin cushion is made of a blue velvet and has a plain back. The pins can be inserted into the soft material between the bellows.

The bellows are contained in a cardboard box with " THOMAS STEVENS, COVENTRY & LONDON " printed on the inside of the lid.
 Stevens printed Trade Mark on the inside cover of the cardboard box
Stevens would normally have taken part of the design of a bookmark to create the central silk on these pin cuhions and needle cases. I have however been unable to identify the design used here.
