A WISH Not for a moment may you stray From truth's secure unerring way ! May no delights decoy ! O'er roses may your footsteps move, Your smiles be ever smiles of love Your tears be tears of joy.
|
EVER TRUE Nothing ever can estrange Me from thee, no time can change Aught of that underlying love Which misfortune would but prove What though eyes less brightly shine Love will make their light divine, What though auburn change to grey Love will still increase each day.

I love thee truly Would you know dear, what is love That each fond heart so can move ? Love is like a lily fair, Spotless, pure, beyond compare Love is like a diamond bright Priceless, full of liquid light, Love is like the stars that shine With a radiance divine.

This card as a whole would normally be found inside a cardboard box, and is hence recorded here.
As can be seen, the front cover of the card is padded, with a woven motif of flowers. The three internal printed card each have a silk fringe, and have the printed " T.S. " initials which define them as being of Thomas Stevens manufacture. The whole card would normally be affixed in a box on the short left hand edge, with the printed Stevens logo probably on the inside of the box lid. |
