As can be seen, this card comprises a woven padded cushion with silk fringe, and with printed cards attached to the front and back.
The card on the front has the printed " T.S. " initials of Thomas Stevens, whilst the card on the back has no identification. The front card also has a printed number associated with the " T.S. ", 012 on the card above. At one time it was assumed this number printed on the card defined the card design. However, these numbers are repeated on multiple different designs, so the relevance of the number is hence unknown (unless perhaps it is a short hand for the artist/designer, rather than the design, for such as royalty payments). |
