Stevens also produced a very similar bookmark, with the same title, recorded as sb2104. There are a number of minor differences in the decoration surrounding the bible quote, with the primary one being the initials " I H S " at the very bottom point, whereas the version above has a roundel pattern in the same place.

Jenni Redman has conducted extensive research into this design, and discovered a detailed newspaper report in the Coventry Standard of a relevant court case:
Thomas Stevens prosecuted Mulloney & Johnson in October 1862 for infringement of his Registered Design of this bookmark. Stevens lost that case, it would seem, because he could not demonstrate that all the bookmarks had either a woven registration mark, or were attached to stiff backing paper with the correct registration mark.

Pure Speculation:
Could it be that the version above without the registration diamond was the first to be issued (and hence the subject of the court case), and the alternative, larger design with the Diamond Registration Mark (sb2104), being the following on design after the court case?
