It is not known how this bookmark is signed on the reverse, although as it is contained within the Stevens Family Album, presented to The Alfred Herbert Museum, there can be little doubt it is of T.STEVENS manufacture.

On closer inspection however, it can be seen that the design of this silk is continuous, having no natural breaks for the top and bottom turn overs. It is hence very unlikely to have the STEVENS name woven on the reverse. Indeed, this silk would better be described as a ribbon, not a bookmark, although as Darby records it as a bookmark, that categorisation is continued.
