It is believed the Spanish words translate as " HAPPY NEW YEAR ".
It is not known how these bookmarks are signed on the reverse, although as they are contained within the Stevens Family Album, presented to The Alfred Herbert Museum, there can be little doubt they are of T.STEVENS manufacture. In addition, the image on the left shows one of the bookmarks still attached to the stiff backing paper used to support it in the post, and that paper has the printed STEVENS logo. |
