Godden records this design as having been registered on 26 February 1874. Rather than weaving in the Diamond Registration mark, Slingsby tended to stamp it on the back of his silks, in an oval shape, using ink. There is just such a stamped oval on the reverse of this bookmark, although it is rather indistinct.
This same bookmark features as the main decoration of a sash, recorded as osl 88 on this site. |
