This silk is not listed by Godden Other comments: Signed " H. SLINGSBY & SON. MANfrs NUNEATON. " on the reverse top turn-over:The silk appears to be a bookmark, but a pin has been set into the reverse, under the usual turn over at the top of the silk. It was hence worn as a delegates badge. I am told that the Society was formed at the Bird in Hand public house in Covent Garden, London, on 20th June 1842. |
