Interestingly, the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry also have a copy of this bookmark, and their version is still attached to the stiff backing paper with the printed name " THOMAS W. BAND. "
I have recorded elsewhere that Welch & Lenton bookmarks have been seen attached to these THOMAS W. BAND stiff backing papers. Maybe the " L " of L & S relates to LENTON?
