Comments: | by Geoffrey Godden: Other comments: On early Grant back labels are listed the designs of "Rt. Hon. W.E. Gladstone", "General Gordon", and "Lord Randolph Churchill". The back label records "These are much larger than others", and are priced at 2 shillings; being four times the price of the usual silk portraits. The three GRANT portraits are recorded on this site as: Rt. Hon. W.E. Gladstone, recorded as go226It should be recognised though that the GORDON silk is of a different design to the other two, it might not be a GRANT at all. |
