The two individual silks comprising this picture are usually found as unmounted silks. The card matt appears to be contemporary with the age of the silks, and is perhaps original.

Godden records the two individual designs as being registered on 25 July 1862.

Whilst these silks bear the credit Odell & French, Manfr., Welch & Lenton, Drafts, Godden records that the official registrations were awarded to Welch & Lenton.
