Woven credit on the reverse of this badge

As can be seen from the image, this Royal favour, or badge, was intended to be worn as a pin in the coat lapel, with what would probably have been a medal attached to the ring at the pointed end. This ring is supported by a "V" shaped metal bar stitched into the bottom turn-over.

Close-up of the reverse pointed end, showing the addition of the ring to support a medal
