HOME SWEET HOME

MID PLEASURES AND PALACES, THOUGH WE MAY ROAM,
BE IT EVERY SO HUMBLE, THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

A CHARM FROM THE SKY SEEMS TO HALLOW US THERE,
WHICH SEEK THROUGH THE WORLD, IS NE'ER MET WITH ELSEWHERE.

HOME, HOME, SWEET, SWEET HOME, BE IT EVER SO HUMBLE
THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

Comments:
This design is numbered 102 on the Grant catalogue and price list.

In this postcard, the chorus words have been included immediately below the words of the verse; with the music of the verse following, then the music of the chorus. The more typical design of this postcard [gc816 on this site] has the words and music of the verse together, followed by the words and music of the chorus together.
It will be seen that the music of the chorus is slightly different. In the 4th bar, the first note was a " G " in the earliest version of the card; being corrected to an " A " in all later versions.
